As Celebrity Summit embarks to reposition in PortMiami Florida for the Caribbean season, Celebrity Cruises wrapped up a successful first season of homeporting in Boston (Massachusetts).
For the 2022 season, Celebrity Summit embarked on four 10-, 11-, and 12-night roundtrip voyages that sailed the Northeast coastline, calling in Maine and Canada.
Lisa Lutoff-Perlo (Celebrity's President and CEO) said their first Boston homeporting season had been "an absolutely thrilling success and one of Celebrity’s most sought-after itineraries.”
Flynn Cruiseport Boston, situated in South Boston and named after former Boston Mayor Ray Flynn, welcomed cruising back this year, with 126 cruise ships between April-November from 19 different lines. Flynn Cruiseport Boston plays a major role in the tourism economy in Greater Boston & Massachusetts, supporting ~2,200 jobs and an annual economic impact of US$135.5 million.
Celebrity Cruises first started calling Boston MA back in 1990.
Celebrity Summit will be returning to her homeport in Boston between August and October 2023, where passengers will embark on 11-night itineraries as they explore the Eastern Coastline, visiting Maine (including a new port Rockland) prior to reaching Canada and overnight in Quebec.
