Oceania Cruises’ ship Regatta is setting sail from Sydney NSW this evening, December 12, for a 35-day circumnavigation voyage of the entire Australian coast.
Of the 656 guests onboard, half are Australians, and the remaining are international passengers from overseas.
Oceania Regatta arrived/berthed at the Overseas Passenger Terminal this morning prior to making her way to Newcastle, offering a 14-day itinerary from Sydney to Benoa/Bali Indonesia calling at ports on the east coast of Australia as well as a 21-day "Boxing Day" return trip (Benoa to Sydney) along Australia's west coast.
Jason Worth (Oceania's VP for Australia & NZ) said that was the first time they had an Oceania boat in Sydney Harbour since 2019, so they were delighted to welcome Regatta back to the region.
Regatta underwent a $50M refit in 2019 and now has Solo Oceanview Staterooms to cater to an increasing number of passengers who prefer to travel on their own. The 143 ft2 (13 m2) single cabins (on Deck 6) are a nice retreat for single travelers with a premium bed, writing desk, mini-bar, and Bulgari bath amenities.
Oceania Regatta will also offer a 14-day voyage from Sydney NSW to Auckland NZ via Milford Sound, Christchurch, Napier, and the Bay of Islands on January 16th, 2023, with a return voyage arriving back in Sydney on February 13th, 2023.
The ship will also offer another 15-day exploration of New Zealand, Fjords, and Tasman Tales setting sail from Sydney on February 13th, cruising via Hobart to the east coast of NZ’s south and north islands.
On February 28th, 2023, Oceania Regatta will leave Australia for a 28-day journey from Sydney NSW through the Coral Sea/South Pacific to Papeete (Tahiti), Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa, and Bora Bora.
Most of the sailings this year and in early 2023 are fully booked but the line said:
”For those who may have missed out this year, Regatta will return to the region for the 2023-2024 summer season. Enticing itineraries with availability include the 35-day Sydney to Sydney circumnavigation voyage on 21 December 2023 and the 14-day Sydney to Sydney New Zealand Discovery sailing on 25 January 2024.”
