CCL-Carnival Cruise Line announced that the first series of year-round roundtrips from Norfolk (Virginia USA) are now opening for sale as the company continues to plan its largest-ever operational schedule from VA.
The first phase will offer voyages onboard Carnival Sunshine from February 18th, 2025, through April 2025, with plans to open further itineraries for bookings in the coming months.
Christine Duffy (CCL's President) said Carnival Sunshine was the perfect ship to usher in the next step for service expansion from Norfolk’s Half Moone Cruise Terminal, and as they worked closely with city and port officials on their plans to increase from seasonal to year-round operations, they were delighted to open those sailings for sale, so guests from all over the southeastern USA could start doing some planning of their own for 2025.
“We’ve been sailing from Norfolk since 2002, and we’re pleased to expand our offerings from this historic, charming community while strengthening our support of the local economy.”
Carnival Sunshine is scheduled to rotate between 6- and 8-day sailings and will call at popular destinations in the Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean, including Amber Cove, Bimini, Nassau, Freeport, Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Princess Cays.
The itineraries now open for bookings include:
- Bahamas: 6-day itinerary to North Bimini, Nassau, Freeport; and 6-day to Nassau, Half Moon Cay, Freeport
- Eastern Caribbean: 8-day itinerary to Amber Cove, Grand Turk, Princess Cays; and 8-day to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove.
Featuring 500+ balcony staterooms and dozens of suites, CCL Sunshine ship accommodates 3000+ guests and is expected to bring ~100,000 tourists to Norfolk VA in 2025. The liner offers a wide range of amenities, including a 3-level Serenity adults-only retreat, as well as attractions like dual racing slides and a suspended ropes course.
