A male passenger died on Monday, December 19th, onboard a cruise ship homeported in Baltimore (Maryland USA).
CCL-Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that the Carnival Legend ship was in the Caribbean and at sea when the man died.
According to cruise officials, while there was a man overboard call, that was not an overboard accident.
In a statement, Carnival Cruise Line said they were sad to share that they had had an incident Monday night.
"We are supporting the guest's family and others who witnessed the situation. With respect for the privacy of all involved, we will not say any more, but ask that you keep the family in your thoughts and prayers."
Officials have not yet revealed what the cause of death was.
At the time of the accident, Carnival Legend was on an 8-day, round-trip Eastern Caribbean voyage from Baltimore, themed "Christmas". Ports of call include Nassau, New Providence Island Bahamas (Dec 21st), Princess Cays, Eleuthera Island Bahamas (Dec 22nd), and Cockburn Town, Grand Turk Island, Turks and Caicos (Dec 23rd).
