A cruise ship suspended its scheduled call at Taino Bay Port (Puerto Plata, Dominicana), on Sunday, December 25th.
The reason for the cancelation is still unknown.
NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line's ship Norwegian Dawn had thousands of passengers on board.
A statement from a company linked to the terminal's operations said:
“By this means we let you know that the Norwegian Dawn ship canceled its arrival that was scheduled for this December 25.”
So far, no authority/port administration has offered details about the cancellation of the visit.
Taino Bay and Amber Cove are two cruise ship terminals operated in Puerto Plata.
They both have projected in their calendars of operations to receive ~60 visits during the current month. The figure represents the largest number of ocean ships ever docking at the Atlantic Bride.
Norwegian Dawn is currently sailing on an 11-day "Caribbean, Curacao, Aruba and Dominican Republic Cruise" roundtrip from Tampa (Florida USA).
