HAL-Holland America is back with sailings in Asia with its ms Westerdam ship.
In her first Asian visit since the 2020 shutdown, ms Westerdam was welcomed on Pulau Komodo Island on January 14th. Following the first call, the ship arrived in Bali after sailing to Lembar (Lombok Indonesia) on January 15th.
The Indonesian calls are part of the 30-day repositioning voyage that started in Auckland NZ on December 20th and is due to end in Singapore on Thursday, January 19th.
After a routine drydock, ms Westerdam is due to commence a full Asia program in early February, operating from Singapore and Japan to a variety of countries including China, Korea, Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines.
The Asian season of the vessel will end at the end of April 2023 and Westerdam will embark on a North Pacific crossing to Seattle WA with calls in Japan and Alaska. The ship will begin a spring/summer Alaska season from Seattle WA in early May.
MS Westerdam debuted back in 2004 as part of HAL's Vista class.
The 1964-passenger boat offers a range of dining venues, including Tamarind Asian restaurant, Pinnacle Grill steakhouse, Canaletto Italian, and Poolside Grill. Other features include Greenhouse Spa & Salon, BBC Earth in Concert, B.B. King's Blues Club, Club HAL kids' clubs, wine tastings, and cooking demonstrations.
