Ferry services to/from Calais (France) were suspended due to a national strike in France.
P&O Ferries said it had produced an optimized sailing schedule in light of the 24-hour strike, popular as the National Day of Action, which started at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19th.
P&O added that owing to a lack of details it could not anticipate the level of disruption to its schedule.
“We will attempt to limit disruption wherever possible. However, if your journey is not essential, we do advise that you rearrange your travel to an alternative date.”
Port Dover (England UK) announced it was still open, with ferry services to Dunkirk/Dunkerque (France) running as normal, but travelers should expect the port, and the local road network around the city, to be busier than usual.
Eurostar announced its services would also be affected and the company would be running a revised timetable on Thursday and Friday.
