River cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises (fleet), announced it will christen its new flagship VIVA Two on March 23rd, 2023.
Following the launch of its first newbuild boat in spring 2022 - VIVA One, the Dusseldorf-based company is reaching another major milestone with the reveal of its 2nd newbuild.
Shiri Gordon, CEO & co-owner of The Gordon Travel Group (1978-founded, Tel Aviv-based) and long-time partner of VIVA Cruises/its parent company Scylla AG, will serve as VIVA Two’s godmother.
Andrea Kruse (VIVA's COO) said they were celebrating 5 years of VIVA Cruises this year and, since the beginning, they had been focused on innovation/branching out of the ordinary.
"This is continuing with the christening of VIVA TWO and with the selection of our godmother. This decision also represents our gratitude to all of our partners who we work with on a daily basis. Shiri Gordon is the perfect representative for us and for all of our partners; standing for successful women in leadership positions and showcasing our passion for the river cruise industry.”
Shiri Gordon is the 3rd generation to lead the travel group. Since 1977, the family company has grown into one of Israel's leading tour operators, offering a variety of personalized experiences worldwide.
VIVA Two’s naming will see internationally invited passengers and business partners coming together to celebrate the milestone.
The Dusseldorf-based team of VIVA Cruises, including Andrea Kruse (COO) and Arno Reitsma (Managing Director), will welcome the guests onboard the newbuild for its christening festivities. Popular German TV presenter, Marco Schreyl, will be in attendance to guide the event and host the christening.
Owing to the central berth in Dusseldorf’s old town, passers-by will be able to watch the official ceremony from the shore with a great view of the boat/all its festivities from the quay.
