Good news for travelers opting for sea rather than air transport: a ferry will service Cyprus' ports Larnaca and Limassol to Piraeus/Athens (Greece).
MS Daleela (1991-built, IMO 9001306) with shipowner Scandro Holding Ltd will commence crossings from Port Larnaca in early August and up until mid-September 2023 on a weekly basis.
The route from Limassol is due to launch in May, according to the company's CEO Marios Michael.
The ferry line launches in May out of Port Limassol, with 14 weekly crossings. Following that, the routes’ starting points are to be moved to Port Larnaca with 8 routes, beginning in August.
Official announcements are yet to be made by representatives of Kition Ocean Holdings which took over Larnaca port's management. Along with Larnaca Municipality representatives and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the coastal city.

The crossing time is ~30 hours from Limassol and ~32 hours from Larnaca. In terms of ticket fares, Michael said they were awaiting information on port taxes prior to determining final prices.
Michael added they had already presented the Deputy Tourism Ministry with the details of the ship, the routes, and cooperating ports.
