A 2nd ship in a year was named by VIVA Cruises (fleet) with a 3rd new riverboat scheduled to enter service in September 2024.
The 190-guest VIVA Two was christened at the line’s homeport Dusseldorf (Germany) on March 23rd.
The vessel is owned by the Swiss company Scylla AG (shipowner) and chartered to its German subsidiary company and travel brand VIVA Cruises (fleet).
The launch of VIVA Three will see VIVA Cruises introduce 3 ships over 3 years.
MS VIVA Two will mainly operate on the Danube River on 5-day trips or 7-night cruises from Passau (Germany Bavaria)/Vienna (Wien, Austria). The program also includes a 16-day journey in the summer.
The ship will sail back to Dusseldorf for January, February, and March to run 4-night city trips to Belgium and the Netherlands.
A catalytic converter/particle filter have been added to the exhaust system of the ship, enabling it to meet the EU Stage V exhaust emission standard, which regulates compliance with emissions in both European/German inland shipping.
The ship has 76 solar panels supporting its electrical system.
