Princess Cruises has introduced a new specialty seafood restaurant called The Catch by Rudi, in partnership with Chef Rudi Sodamin, the head of culinary arts for Princess. This new dining concept will debut on Enchanted Princess when the ship emerges from drydock on April 15th, and will soon be added to three more of Princess' newest ships.
The Catch by Rudi is the first Princess restaurant dedicated to seafood, offering a fresh take on seafood with Chef Rudi's contemporary interpretations of classic dishes, international fusion influences, creative presentations, and an engaging dining experience.
Replacing "Bistro Sur la Mer", The Catch by Rudi is expected to make a big impression with its menu that caters to both seafood enthusiasts and guests who enjoy "surf and turf" options. Guests will notice unique and novel elements as soon as they pick up the menu, with headings like "Beauty on the Plate" and "Tower of Taste." The place settings are also distinctive, with guests being welcomed at their tables with a special cocktail crafted by mixologist Rob Floyd.
Priced at $39 per person and available as a specialty dining option within the Princess Premier (premium add-on) package, the restaurant's menu features The Daily Catch, showcasing the freshest sustainably sourced seafood from local ports of call. The menu also includes playful twists on seafood favorites such as Asian-fried calamari, modern interpretations of comforting classics like lobsters with garlic butter crust, and signature seafood inventions from Chef Rudi's personal repertoire, including a Towering Trio and Whole Dover Sole. The Seafood Trolly is a visual feast, piled high with fresh lobster tail, shrimp, oysters, mussels, and other treasures from the sea.
The Catch by Rudi promises a unique dining experience, with each preparation and presentation being completely unique to guests dining onboard. While seafood dishes take the spotlight, the restaurant also offers options to cater to various tastes and appetites, including vegetarian dishes and signature beef classics like steak frites, all presented with Chef Rudi's distinctive creativity. The restaurant's wine selection is carefully curated to pair with seafood, and the knowledgeable waitstaff will offer recommendations for white, red, rose, and sparkling wines from coastal wine-growing regions around the world, with a focus on comfort, fun, and approachability for guests.
On Enchanted Princess, The Catch by Rudi is located on Deck 5, across from the Guest Services desk, as Sabatini's moves to Deck 7(Piazza), where La Mer was previously located.
The new restaurant concept will also be added to several other Princess ships, including Majestic Princess in May, just in time for its Alaska season, and Sky Princess in May, sailing from Southampton UK on Scandinavian and Baltic itineraries this summer, as well as Discovery Princess in the fall.
