A variety of coronation-themed events and entertainment are planned on two Princess Cruises ships based in the United Kingdom to celebrate the upcoming crowning of King Charles III next month.
Passengers on the liners Sky Princess and Regal Princess, both departing from Southampton England, will be able to enjoy a range of activities designed to commemorate King Charles' ascension to the throne.
On May 6th, live coverage of 'The Coronation Service at Westminster' and 'The Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle' will be shown on the 300-square-foot 'Movies Under the Stars' jumbotron on both ships and 'The Biggest Street Party' will be replicated on the top deck.
A 'Royal Afternoon Tea' will be served on board both ships, featuring British favorites like Victoria sponge cake. Pimms and strawberries will be served on the top deck, and traditional British fare such as fish and chips, sausage rolls, and trifle will be available in the World Fresh Marketplace.
Guest speaker Grant Harrold, former butler of the King and a leading etiquette expert, royal commentator, and broadcaster, will give talks on board the Regal Princess between May 3rd and 5th, and on the Sky Princess between May 6th and 13th.
The Piazza on both ships will be decorated with banners and buntings in royal colours to mark the occasion, and guests will be encouraged to dress up in royal red, white, and blue for a special themed dress-up night.
As part of its itinerary around the British Isles, the Regal Princess will also call at Holyhead in Wales on May 6th, providing guests with the opportunity to experience the historical moment in a location with strong ties to the King.
On the Sky Princess, exclusive Coronation-themed entertainment will take place, including a special 'Royal Variety Show' featuring a tribute to Elton John, performed in the Princess Theatre, as well as 'Royal Trivia' in Princess Live!
