Ambassador Cruise Line's ship Ambience sought refuge from stormy weather at Cherbourg, France on April 12th while traveling from Ireland to Honfleur.
Although the ship was berthed, some mooring lines failed, causing the ship to nearly break free, with the gangway hanging from the starboard side.
Tugboats were called in and the ship was safely secured at the berth, with all passengers and crew remaining on board during the incident.
There were reports of damage to the starboard hull.
On April 13, Ambience departed Cherbourg in the morning and headed towards London-Tilbury UK, with the Hornfleur call apparently cancelled.
