Marella Cruises has broken with tradition by choosing two of its own crew members as the godmothers for its newest ship Marella Voyager/fka Mein Schiff Herz.
Instead of selecting celebrities, the cruise line has chosen Chief Purser Tatyana Olkhovska and Senior Destination Services Operations Manager Jacqui Nobile, who have over 40 years of combined experience in the cruise industry.
The selection process involved identifying the most deserving candidates based on their length of service and progression within Marella over time.
Olkhovska and Nobile will christen the ship at its launch and naming ceremony in Malaga (Spain) on May 31, 2023.
Olkhovska joined Marella Cruises in 2003 and is celebrating her twentieth year with the company. Nobile began her career with TUI in 1994 and worked her way up to become one of the godmothers for Marella Voyager.
The vessel (previously known as TUI's Mein Schiff Herz) is undergoing a drydock renovation and refit and will start an inaugural Mediterranean program on June 3, 2023.
