Guernsey Island (St Peter Port, Channel Islands UK) is set to welcome 95 cruise ship calls during the current season, which is an increase compared to the previous year.
This is expected to bring a potential of 147,260 passengers to the island, and the season commenced on April 15th with the Hamburg ship from Conti Group and will conclude on October 22nd with MSC Euribia from MSC Cruises.
In a bid to attract more luxury cruise ships, Guernsey has set its sights on welcoming Silversea for five calls in 2023. Additionally, for the first time ever, 12 cruise ships will be calling at the port of Guernsey.
To showcase the destination and the available shore excursions to luxury cruise brands, The Islands of Guernsey recently conducted a fam trip, which was attended by representatives from Saga UK, MSC Explora Journeys, Silversea, SeaDream, and Ponant. The attendees were treated to a variety of experiences, including a visit to the historic German Underground Hospital, which bears witness to Guernsey’s occupation during World War Two, a taste of Guernsey’s sustainable Rocquette Cider, and a walk along the scenic South Coast cliffs.
