A search is still underway for an Australian cruise passenger who fell off an RCI-Royal Caribbean cruise ship bound for Hawaii.
The man went overboard Wednesday night, April 26th, from Quantum of the Seas south of the Hawaiian Islands.
In a statement, Royal Caribbean said that while on its trans-pacific sailing, a guest onboard Quantum OTS had gone overboard.
The ship's crew had immediately launched a search and rescue operation and was working closely with local authorities.
Travelers were asked to go back to their staterooms to make sure everyone was accounted for.
The Australian man who fell overboard is believed to be the partner of a passenger who died on the vessel during a medical emergency hours early.
Quantum OTS has been at sea for 15 days and is expected to dock in Honolulu on Friday, April 28th.
The liner departed Brisbane (Australia) on April 12th.
