RCI-Royal Caribbean has been forced to cancel 2 voyages aboard its Jewel OTS ship next year because of repositioning plans.
All passengers who have already booked are eligible to receive a similar itinerary/a full refund.
The affected sailings (both roundtrips from Amsterdam) were scheduled to start in 2024 on July 29th (12-day "Iceland & Ireland" itinerary) and August 10th (12-day "Arctic Circle Cruise" itinerary), respectively.
An email sent to passengers says:
"Our original plan for Jewel of the Seas was to offer sailings departing from Amsterdam, Netherlands through August 10, 2024. However, due to a change in our itinerary planning, Jewel of the Seas will now sail from Haifa, Israel beginning August 16, 2024.
"To accommodate the ship’s repositioning to Haifa, your upcoming Jewel of the Seas cruise has been canceled."
Once the liner is repositioned, it will be sailing in the Eastern Mediterranean. Starting on November 8th (2024) Jewel OTS' Caribbean deployment is based on homeporting in Galveston (Texas USA).
The ex-Israel itineraries are 7-day (to the Greek Isles Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes, also Piraeus-Athens) as well as 3-day short breaks to Cyprus visiting Limassol and Ayia Napa.
