On May 1st, Oceania took delivery of its newest ship - Vista. The ceremony was held at Fincantieri's shipbuilding yard in Genoa (Italy).
The vessel is the first of two ALLURA-class units for Oceania, to be followed by Allura (). The new class introduces new accommodations, as well as new dining and entertainment experiences. Vista has 15 floors, 613 staterooms, max capacity 1469 passengers (plus 800 crew) and a service ratio of 2 staff/crew for every 3 guests.
Oceania Vista has 12 dining venues, including 4 new concepts: Ember, offering American cuisine; Aquamar Kitchen, boasting a wellness-themed menu; and The Bakery at Baristas, serving freshly baked pastries.
The boat also boasts an elevated mixology program with specialty cocktails. Vacationers can watch Broadway-style productions that feature recognizable songs and contemporary dance numbers led by Britt Stewart (Dancing with the Stars choreographer).
Frank A. Del Rio (company's President) said they ushered in a new era for Oceania with the delivery of Vista.
“We could not have built such an exceptional ship without the close partnership enjoyed with Fincantieri. We thank each and every person who had a hand in bringing her to life. From the smallest of design details to the largest per capita galley at sea, Vista is a marvel that will be enjoyed by guests for decades to come.”
Oceania Vista will be christened on May 8th, 2023. The naming event will be led by godmother Giada De Laurentiis (chef, restaurateur, author, and Emmy award-winning food personality ). The ceremony is to be held in Valletta Harbour (Malta), beginning at 21:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time) and will be live-streamed.
The vessel will then sail to Canada and New England prior to heading south for a series of winter 2023-24 itineraries exploring Central America and the Caribbean.
