AmaWaterways has released its 2024 "Heart of the River brochure" providing details on the extraordinary river cruise travel experiences that await guests across various destinations in Europe, Egypt, Asia, Colombia, and Africa.
In 2024, the company will continue its commitment to innovation by introducing new boats, itineraries, and land travel packages. This includes the launch of "Seven River Journeys" - the world's longest river cruises in Europe, as well as the first-ever major voyage along Colombia's Magdalena River (AmaMagdalena ship) and the culinary-themed Flavors of Burgundy itinerary (AmaMelodia ship).
AmaWaterways will be the first major river cruise line to navigate the Magdalena River in Colombia in 2024. Guests can choose between two 7-night itineraries, Magic of Colombia and Wonders of Colombia, which sail between Cartagena and Barranquilla. These itineraries offer the unique opportunity to explore sites and cultural traditions recognized by UNESCO for their outstanding universal value. Included in the cruise price are immersive shore excursions, live carnival performances, local gastronomy, city tours, and more.
AmaWaterways' two new custom-built vessels - AmaMagdalena (30 staterooms) and AmaMelodia (32 staterooms) - significantly enhance the brand's presence on the market. Passengers can enjoy spacious twin-balcony cabins, a heated swimming pool, a gym, a nail salon, and alfresco dining.
To further enrich the Colombian journey, AmaWaterways offers optional pre-cruise land packages in Medellin and Cartagena, as well as a post-cruise land package in Panama City, Panama.
AmaWaterways will also debut the Seven River Journeys itinerary in 2024, spanning an unprecedented 49 nights. Building on the success of their 45 to 46-night European river cruises in 2023, this extended journey allows travelers to explore an additional country. Cruising through 15 countries from the North Sea to the Black Sea, guests will traverse the Rhine and Moselle, navigate the Main-Danube Canal, and Danube (including Romania's Danube Delta). Unlike previous itineraries, this voyage will be conducted entirely on the luxurious AmaMora, eliminating the need for ship transfers. Unique excursions, gratuities, airport transfers, complimentary laundry and luggage service, and the assistance of an experienced AmaWaterways' Cruise Manager throughout the 49-night journey are all included, ensuring an unforgettable river cruise experience.
Responding to guests' continued interest in culinary and wine regions, AmaWaterways will introduce the Flavors of Burgundy itinerary in 2024. Lasting seven nights and sailing between the Port of Dijon and Lyon, this journey celebrates the essence of France's Burgundy region. Travelers will have the opportunity to explore Lyon's famous Les Halles Market, cycle along the scenic Saone River, and indulge in the region's renowned Maconnais and Chalonnaise wines. The itinerary can be combined with pre- and post-cruise land packages in Paris France and Geneva Switzerland. These packages offer leisure time and exclusive excursions to immerse guests in the local cultures. In Geneva, visitors can enjoy a city tour, and visit Montreux and Chillon Castle. In Paris, tourists can enjoy an evening illumination tour to witness France's capital city's renowned "City of Light" ambiance.
