The world's first China-built cruise liner - Adora Magic City, set sail from Shanghai on Monday, July 17th, to begin her trial voyage.
Since her successful undocking on June 6th, the ship has undergone a series of tests, including emergency assessments, as reported by the shipbuilder Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co Ltd (subsidiary of CSSC/China State Shipbuilding Corporation).
With a volume of 135,500 GT-tons, Adora Magic City has max capacity 6500 (passengers + crew). Onboard, passengers can expect luxurious hotel amenities, cinemas, and even a water park.
The ship is slated for delivery to Adora Cruises in December 2023, marking a significant milestone for China's shipbuilding industry.
Additionally, the construction of the second China-built large cruise ship (Adora Magic City's sistership/TBN) commenced in August 2022 (planned delivery in 2025), showcasing China's ongoing commitment to expanding its domestic cruise fleet.
