The Maritime and Port Bureau of Taiwan has declared the cancellation of several ferry trips in response to a sea warning issued by the Central Weather Bureau on Monday, due to the approaching Typhoon Doksuri.
To prepare for the storm's potential impacts on tides and waves, a total of 9 ferry routes will be suspended. Among these, 6 routes connecting Taiwan's main island with its outer islands and 3 routes between China and Taiwan will be affected.
On Tuesday, July 25th, two ferries traveling between Kaohsiung and Magong, Penghu were canceled, along with one ferry each for the routes between Keelung and Matsu, and between Taipei and Matsu.
Furthermore, from Tuesday to Thursday, there will be 12 canceled journeys between Taitung and Green Island, 6 between Taitung and Orchid Island, and 8 between Houbihu Harbour in Kenting and Orchid Island, as stated by the Maritime and Port Bureau.
In relation to the ferry routes connecting Taiwan and China, two ferries linking Taiwan's Kinmen and China's Quanzhou, and four ferries running between Matsu and Fuzhou will also be canceled on Tuesday.
Adding to these disruptions, the operators of passenger ferry services between Pingtung's Donggang and Xiaoliuqiu Island have announced the suspension of all journeys from Wednesday to Friday.
