Exciting news has been unveiled in the cruise industry aboard Crystal Serenity near the Italian coast. Cristina Levis (A&K Travel Group's CEO) made a special announcement, revealing plans for the construction of four new ships - two ocean and two expedition, by the year 2029. The new vessels will cater to the travel market's ultra-luxury segment and will add to Crystal's already esteemed reputation of being 'Exceptional at Sea.'
The expedition ships are designed to accommodate 220 guests each, while the classic ocean ships will hold up to 650 passengers each. Crystal's re-entry into the competitive world of cruising brings with it a host of impressive features, which were evident during the shakedown cruise attended by MiNDFOOD’s Editor in Chief Michael McHugh.
During the cruise, one of the standout moments was when Michael McHugh explored the new Sapphire Veranda Suite, a spacious living area spanning up to 430 ft2 (40 m2) and featuring a double-sized veranda. The suite impressed with its vastness and luxurious amenities, such as an enormous shower with four water options, a bathroom with a double basin vanity, an elegantly designed lounge with a separate dining table, a three-seater sofa, and a breakout working office space adorned with handpicked marble personally chosen by Levi's herself.
Aside from the remarkable suites, the cruise also showcased the newly rebuilt restaurants Uni Uma by Nobu and Osteria D’Ovidio, both offering a world-class dining experience. Additionally, the Aurora Spa stood out for its exceptional service and top-notch facilities.
It is noteworthy that A&K Travel Group acquired the Crystal brand and its two beloved ships, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, last year, marking the beginning of a new era of luxury travel experiences.
