MSC Cruises and Formula 1 celebrated a significant milestone together as they marked the first Grand Prix with MSC as the title sponsor. The event, known as the FORMULA 1 MSC CRUISES BELGIAN GRAND PRIX 2023, took place from 28th to 30th July 2023 at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium. As the race's title sponsor and Global Partner of Formula 1, MSC, one of the world's largest and fastest-growing cruise brands, brought its global reach and commitment to excellence to this thrilling race, elevating the experience for fans worldwide.
The collaboration showcased the merging of two world-class brands, renowned for their dedication to providing unforgettable experiences and pushing boundaries. MSC enjoyed heightened track branding visibility as the title partner, prominently featuring their brand at the start-finish line and other key locations around the exciting and high-speed track.
Additionally, the winning Driver and Constructor trophies were specially co-designed by MSC, adding a unique touch to the event and the brand's identity. Gianni Onorato (MSC's CEO) played a crucial role in the podium ceremony, expressing his honor in being part of this momentous occasion and presenting the winners with the prestigious MSC Cruises trophy.
This successful collaboration between MSC and Formula 1 has laid the groundwork for more exciting ventures, with future title sponsorships to be unveiled at selected Formula 1 Grands Prix during the 2024 World Championship season. MSC remains committed to being the Official Cruise Partner of Formula 1 until the end of the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
Looking ahead, MSC has planned other remarkable collaborations with Formula 1. The partnership will see MSC positioning its ships alongside races at select Grand Prix weekends, offering a unique hospitality experience that seamlessly connects the ship to the racetrack.
The inaugural event for this offering will take place in November in Abu Dhabi, during the final race of the 2023 season. MSC Virtuosa will be docked during the Grand Prix weekend, providing motorsport fans with top-notch accommodations, unparalleled hospitality, and convenient transport, including VIP packages, ensuring an unforgettable race weekend experience. This exciting offer will be expanded to other destinations with different ships starting in the 2024 season.
