In light of the potential impact of tropical storm Franklin passing over Dominicana, the schedules of two prominent cruise ships destined for Puerto Plata's ports have been rescheduled, ensuring safety and comfort for passengers. Carnival Celebration, originally slated to dock at the Amber Cove Terminal, and MSC Seascape, bound for Taino Bay, have both seen their arrival dates adjusted.
According to Atahualpa Paulino, the North Regional Director of Tourism, Carnival Celebration's visit has been rescheduled to Friday to avoid any adverse weather conditions.
Puerto Plata's cruise terminals had scheduled 27 cruise ship calls this month alone. Among these, 16 were at the Carnival-exclusive Amber Cove port. The remaining 11 were for the Taino Bay terminal (operated by the Cancun Mexico-based company ITM Group).
These scheduled visits hold paramount importance in terms of Puerto Plata's economic vitality. By fostering local businesses and catalyzing tourism, these cruise arrivals contribute significantly to the welfare of the community and the flourishing local economy.
