ABP Port of Southampton warmly received the maiden call of Explora Journeys' vessel, Explora 1, heralding the commencement of a nine-night voyage encircling the United Kingdom.
A ceremonial exchange of plaques transpired on the ship, marking its inaugural docking at the port. The event was graced by the presence of Captain Serena Melani, the ship's master; Rebekah Keeler from Associated British Ports Southampton; and Michael Ungerer, Explora Journeys' CEO.
Ungerer said Southampton holds a pivotal place as one of the United Kingdom's primary ports and a significant hub within Europe. It was a genuine honor to introduce their eagerly awaited and freshly launched ship, Explora I. The unswerving commitment to excellence finds expression in their innovative and tastefully crafted product, and they are dedicated to tirelessly showcasing it.
Setting sail from Southampton, Explora I's itinerary embraced destinations like South Queensferry-Edinburgh, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Invergordon, Portree/Isle of Skye, Greencastle/Londonderry Northern Ireland, Liverpool, and Greenock-Glasgow. Following this journey, Explora I is scheduled to return to Europe in the summer of 2024, embarking on a series of sailings in the Mediterranean.
