On Saturday, September 2nd, the cruise ship Celestyal Journey embarked from the port of Piraeus (Athens, Greece), marking her inaugural voyage under the Celestyal Cruises banner. This event carried significant anticipation as the cruise company welcomed its first guests aboard this vessel, which had undergone an extensive transformation involving an investment of EUR 20 million.
Formerly known as the MS Ryndam during her service with HAL-Holland America Line, the Celestyal Journey now stands as an embodiment of sophistication and elegance. She surpasses her predecessors in the Celestyal Cruises fleet in terms of size and contemporary design, setting new standards for comfort and style. With the capacity to host 1,260 cruise guests in 630 cabins, including 120 junior suites and 28 grand suites, each featuring private balconies for an enhanced ocean-view experience based on double occupancy.
The introduction of the Celestyal Journey also signifies the gradual retirement of the esteemed cruise ship Celestyal Crystal. The maiden voyage of the Celestyal Journey embarks on a captivating week-long Idyllic Aegean itinerary, offering enchanting stops at renowned Greek islands such as Crete, Santorini, Milos, Mykonos, among others. In addition to Piraeus, embarkations will occur at various other ports along the way.
