The UK-based Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has collaborated with Go Stargazing (UK-based astronomy organization) to introduce a series of voyages scheduled for 2024.
This newly established partnership will feature astronomers on board three ships (Bolette, Borealis, Balmoral) during a selection of 26 voyages. They will explore destinations such as Norway, Iceland, Portugal's Azores, and Spain's Canary Islands throughout 2024.
The initiative aims to encourage passengers to explore the night skies during their journeys.
Go Stargazing's experts will be present on each voyage to assist passengers in navigating the dark skies, offering laser-guided tours of constellations and insights into celestial objects. Passengers will have the opportunity to observe phenomena such as meteor showers and the Aurora Borealis.
James Moss (Journey Experience Coordinator at Fred. Olsen) expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration and its potential to enhance passengers' night sky experiences.
In addition to stargazing opportunities, the Go Stargazing team will conduct various presentations and engage in discussions to address inquiries related to astronomy.
The partnership with Go Stargazing aligns with Fred Olsen's Signature Experience "Sky at Sea" which celebrates the beauty of sunrises at sea and the allure of the night sky from the sundeck.
