Virgin Voyages is slated to return to the United Kingdom in 2024, following its inaugural sailing from Portsmouth International Port with the Scarlet Lady in the summer of 2021.
The upcoming return promises to be a highlight of the 2024 cruise calendar, with new sailings confirmed, including first-time visits to Bilbao and Bordeaux. Although specific departure dates will be disclosed later this month, anticipation is building among cruise enthusiasts.
Virgin's 2024 itineraries offer a diverse range of experiences to cater to various preferences and travel durations. Options include short breaks to Amsterdam and Zeebrugge, serving as a gateway to Bruges. Additionally, extended cruises will sail from Portsmouth to Barcelona, making stops in La Coruna, Lisbon, Casablanca, Malaga, and Ibiza.
Andrew Williamson, Head of Cruise and Ferry at Portsmouth International Port, expressed his excitement for Virgin Voyages' return, highlighting the significance of the Scarlet Lady's arrival in 2021 for both the port and the industry. Portsmouth aims to establish itself as the preferred choice of port for luxury, boutique, and expedition cruise lines in the UK. Williamson eagerly anticipates the release of full itineraries later this month and mentioned the forthcoming carbon-neutral terminal extension, which will enhance the overall experience for Virgin Voyages' passengers.
