Miami-Dade police officers are actively seeking a 26-year-old man (Kevin McGrath) who has been reported missing by a relative following the docking of the CCL-Carnival Cruise Line's ship at PortMiami Florida USA.
The man's last known location was within his stateroom on Carnival Conquest ship, with his presence confirmed at ~2 am on Monday, September 4th. However, CCL's statement suggests that his roommate recalls seeing him ~7 am coinciding with the commencement of the debarkation process at the terminal.
Extensive efforts were made to locate the guest within the ship, but he remained unaccounted for. The USCG was subsequently engaged to conduct a helicopter search of the water in the surrounding area. Miami-Dade police officers were also dispatched to investigate the matter. Despite these efforts, the missing guest was not detected by surveillance systems, including US Customs and Border Protection, during the debarkation.
Once the ship was cleared by Miami-Dade police, it resumed the next voyage. CCL's Care Team is providing support to the guest's family during this distressing situation.
McGrath's sister has disclosed that he was part of a family group celebrating their father's 60th birthday on the ship. Notably, it is confirmed that he didn't disembark through the standard debarkation process (suggesting an overboard), as his mother retains all of his personal identification documents, including his birth certificate and license.
Described as a Black male, Mr. McGrath stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing ~170 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and his attire at the time of his disappearance consisted of a black T-shirt, black shorts, and gray sneakers.
The search for McGrath is ongoing, and authorities continue their efforts to locate him and ensure his well-being.
Carnival Conquest's current voyage (4 day Bahamas itinerary) started on Monday and ends on September 8th.
