Global Ports Holding has secured a 10-year port concession agreement, with an optional 5-year extension, courtesy of Bremenports GmbH & Co. KG, acting on behalf of the city of Bremen, concerning the operational management of the Columbusbahnhof Bremerhaven Cruise Terminal.
Effective from January 2025, the port concession agreement is set to commence, coinciding with the anticipated inclusion of Bremerhaven Cruise Port into GPH's extensive network.
The incorporation of Port Bremerhaven into GPH's portfolio signifies a pivotal stride in the company's strategic expansion plan in Northern Europe. Positioned ideally for Scandinavian and Baltic Sea itineraries, the port's geographical location is paramount. Presently, Bremerhaven Cruise Port is undergoing a substantial multimillion-euro renovation funded by local authorities, which will ultimately enhance and modernize its infrastructure.
In the previous year, Bremerhaven Cruise Port warmly welcomed more than 230,000 passengers, with an impressive 90% comprising homeport passengers.
The award of this concession materialized through a transparent and open tender process, executed by Bremenports in strict compliance with EU tender regulations.
