On Saturday, September 9th, 2023, DCL-Disney Cruise Line unveiled the official name for its upcoming island destination during Destination D23. The chosen moniker for this new venture is "Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point," a destination aimed at celebrating the natural beauty, traditions, and artistic heritage of the host nation.
The event also featured the release of concept art showcasing the anticipated appearance of Disney Lookout Cay once it reaches completion. Notably, the artwork emphasizes the island's pristine natural scenery, while strategically positioning Disney Cruise Line vessels on the opposite side of the island, ensuring that they remain out of sight of guests enjoying the beach.
Originally announced in 2019, Disney Lookout Cay is situated at the tip of Eleuthera Island and is committed to environmental preservation, relying on 90% solar power. This marks Disney Cruise Line's second Bahamian island destination, the first being Castaway Cay. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point starting in June 2024.
This development is just one of several exciting additions from Disney Cruise Line. Last year, the Disney Wish embarked on cruises from Florida, and this week, further details emerged about the newest addition to their fleet, the Disney Treasure. During the panel at Destination D23, the name for the cruise ship based in Singapore was unveiled as the "Disney Adventure."
