China's pioneering domestically built large-scale cruise ship, Adora Magic City, which also boasts the distinction of being the world's first 5G-equipped cruiser, has successfully completed a series of tests during her second trial voyage. The vessel is set to return as scheduled on Tuesday, September 12th.
During this second sea trial, the ship underwent 5 critical assessments, including tests for speed, maneuverability, vibration, and noise. The data from these trials will now undergo final inspection.
On Tuesday, the Adora Magic City will dock at the pier in Shanghai for comprehensive checks and inspections before being handed over to the operator.
One notable feature of the Adora Magic City is her ABB Azipod diesel-electric propulsion system, enabling silent operation and adaptability to various weather conditions. The ship is equipped with an integrated operating system in the cabin, facilitating the collection of comprehensive vessel data and presenting key performance metrics at a glance.
The provision of stable and high-speed internet connectivity during a cruise is of great importance to Chinese tourists, emphasized Chen Ranfeng, CEO of Adora Cruises.
In January 2023, the Chinese brand Adora Cruises announced its partnership with Chinese mobile broadband provider China Telecom to create the world's first large-scale ocean liner with a 5G-wired network.
An Adora representative highlighted the significance of this development, stating that the 5G network will provide passengers with a high-speed Wi-Fi experience on par with what they can access on land.
