HAL-Holland America Line marked ms Nieuw Statendam's inaugural visit to the Port of Dover, coinciding with the return of convenient roundtrip itineraries from Dover for British travelers for the first time in a decade. This demonstrates Holland America Line's commitment to the UK market.
Nieuw Statendam's arrival in Dover on September 8th was accompanied by water cannons and the striking backdrop of the White Cliffs. Before boarding for the celebration, guests enjoyed exclusive entertainment at the cruise terminal, featuring Morris Dancers, a pianist, and local delicacies from the Produced in Kent market.
Starting in 2025, the ship will offer voyages from the UK, ranging from 14 to 42 days, covering destinations such as Spain's Canary Islands, British Isles, Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Iberia/Spain and Portugal, and the Eastern Mediterranean/Greek Isles.
Currently, HAL has 9 European homeports, with an increased number of longer itineraries (10+ days), more sailings to Iceland, and a total of 62 overnight port calls or late-night departures in major cities.
