On November 11th, 2023, the LNG-powered ship AIDAnova will commence her inaugural winter season out of Port Hamburg (Germany), promising a winter wonderland experience for all onboard.
AIDAnova will alternate her routes every week, setting sail for Western Europe's major cities, as well as Norway and Denmark, offering a diverse range of special event cruises until February 24th, 2024. During this period, AIDAnova will be fully immersed in the AIDA special event series known as the "Sea of Lights." This means that for four months of the 2023-2024 winter season, everything onboard AIDAnova will revolve around impressive light displays, atmospheric performances, and wintry attractions.
To kick off these "sea of lights" voyages, the popular German singer-songwriter Wincent Weiss will deliver a live musical performance onboard AIDAnova on November 11th, 2023. Weiss, known for his album "Irgendwo ankommen," is a fixture in the German pop scene. Guests can look forward to experiencing a pre-Christmas atmosphere with breathtaking light decorations and laser shows that will transform the ship into a dazzling spectacle.
The AIDA Special "Sea of Lights" 2023-2024 will also feature additional event cruises throughout the winter months, from December 2023 to February 2024. December will focus on "Festive Days Full of Glitter," celebrating the sparkling Advent season and Christmas specials. January 2024 will be centered around "Let it glow," offering detox and relaxation as a perfect start to the new year. February 2024, in time for Valentine's Day, will bring a romantic touch, catering to both winter family vacations and intimate getaways with a sea of lights and diverse experiences for guests onboard AIDAnova.
Apart from AIDAnova, other ships in the AIDA fleet will also visit the Elbe River and provide appealing winter destinations both near and far. For those seeking warmth during the winter, the "Great Winter Break" voyages with AIDAmar from/to Hafen Hamburg, spanning from November 12th to December 3rd, 2023, offer a 21-day journey through Spain, Madeira/Portugal, and the Canary Islands, with return stops in Lisbon and Le Havre.
For those in search of more sun, three 43-day journeys starting from and returning to Hamburg will take guests to the Caribbean and back. The first voyage, from December 3rd, 2023, to January 15th, 2024, promises a Christmas and New Year's celebration on a Caribbean beach. Subsequent voyages will occur from January 15th to February 27th, 2023, and from February 27th to April 10th, 2024.
On October 27th, 2023, AIDAsol will embark on her first around-the-world voyage from Hamburg, offering guests an extraordinary 117-day adventure to 43 ports in 20 countries across four continents, with highlights including Cape Verde, Tierra del Fuego, Tahiti, Fiji, Mauritius, and Southern Africa. Following this global expedition, AIDAsol will offer "large winter journeys" from/to Hamburg, including a 17-day voyage starting on February 21st, 2024, and 14-day voyages on March 9th and March 23rd, 2024, leading guests to Norwegian destinations like Honningsvag, Alta, Tromso, and Trondheim, where a snowy landscape and encounters with moose await.
In addition to the "Sea of Lights" cruises, AIDA Cruises will continue to offer various other special event voyages known as AIDA Specials. These voyages will provide guests with the signature amenities and services of AIDA, along with carefully curated onboard programs tailored to the theme of each voyage. The planning for future AIDA Specials is already in progress, promising more exciting maritime experiences for passengers.
