The CLIA European Cruise Week is scheduled to take place in Genova (port to Milan, Italy) from March 11 to 14, 2024. This event is organized in collaboration with the Liguria Region, the Municipality of Genoa, the Port System Authority, and the Chamber of Commerce. During this week, the 3rd edition of the CLIA European Summit and the inaugural CLIA Innovation EXPO, dedicated to the extensive supply chain within the cruise industry, will be hosted at the Jean Nouvel Pavilion in the Porto Antico.
This dedicated week for cruise tourism adds momentum to an industry that is already surpassing expectations. In 2023, Italy is expected to handle a record-breaking 13 million passengers for the first time, potentially marking a remarkable increase of up to 15% compared to 2019 (according to CLIA data analyzed by Rispetti Turismo).
The significance of this event extends beyond Genoa, impacting Italy and Europe as a whole. It is poised to become one of the most significant global trade fairs in the cruise sector, akin to a grand cruise show. It will serve as a gathering point for key stakeholders within the industry, including shipowners, maritime authorities, governmental institutions, regulators, as well as procurement and technical executives from companies. Furthermore, it will bring together the entire spectrum of suppliers in the cruise sector, allowing them to directly engage with decision-makers from companies, fostering substantial business opportunities. This interaction will facilitate the exchange of insights into industry needs, along with the presentation of products, services, solutions, and projects.
Given Genoa's prominence as a leading cruise port, a hub for shipbuilding, and a center for the advancement of maritime technologies, this type of Summit, following the successful 2022 edition and the upcoming 2024 event, is planned to occur biennially.
