TUI Cruises has revealed that its 8th vessel (Schiff 8) in the Mein Schiff fleet - a newbuild from the InTUItion-Class series, will be christened as "Mein Schiff Relax."
The German company's choice of name is a deliberate representation of the new ship's upgraded onboard program and amenities. Slated to make its debut in March 2025, Mein Schiff Relax is the pioneer of two ships currently being constructed by Fincantieri at its Monfalcone yard. It pledges to offer architecturally striking havens of well-being and entertainment, elevating the cruise travel experience to new heights.
Wybcke Meier (TUI's CEO) said that communication across various platforms had underscored the importance of the ship's name for their guests. This vessel holds special significance for them as well, embodying the evolution of everything they had represented for almost a decade with the new additions to the Mein Schiff fleet.
"We have therefore taken the time to carefully consider the ship's name, and it is now evident that the new addition to the fleet can only be named Mein Schiff Relax. This name perfectly encapsulates what the ship symbolizes – a completely new and enhanced feel-good experience."
TUI has scheduled the first Relax ship cruises for March 2025 in the Mediterranean. The inaugural season will be based on homeporting in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Spain).
