On October 26, 2023, RCI-Royal Caribbean International's Allure of the Seas returned to Port Canaveral (Orlando City, Florida USA), marking the debut of OASIS Class ships offering 3- and 4-night getaways to The Bahamas and Royal Caribbean's private island CocoCay.
Captain John Murray (Port Canaveral CEO) acknowledged the partnership with Royal Caribbean and the industry-first shorter itineraries on an Oasis Class ship. The port aimed to meet the demand for these offerings in the market. The preparations included expanding parking capacity near Cruise Terminal 1 by adding around one thousand new parking spaces for cruise guests arriving by car.
In accordance with maritime tradition, Captain John Murray extended a warm welcome to Allure's Captain Tobias Oster and Hotel Director Adriana Tibaudo upon their arrival at the port.
Currently, in Port Canaveral are also homeported the RCI ships Wonder OTS, Mariner OTS and Adventure OTS.
Notably, Allure holds the distinction of being the world's fifth-largest cruise ship, solidifying Port Canaveral's status as the homeport for 2 of the world's 5 largest passenger ships.
