MS Carnival Jubilee, scheduled to debut in Galveston Texas USA in December, accomplished a significant maritime milestone by becoming the first CCL-Carnival Cruise Line ship to complete the conveyance of the Ems River in northwest Germany.
The newbuild was constructed by Meyer Werft and was successfully transferred from the shipyard in Papenburg Germany to Eemshaven Netherlands, in preparation for the upcoming sea trials.
The conveyance process involved a skilled team navigating Carnival Jubilee in reverse along the Ems River toward the North Sea.
Departing Papenburg early Monday morning, the ship received assistance from two tugboats to ensure smooth maneuverability. The transfer was executed with the support of river pilots from the Pilot Brotherhood of Emden, a highly trained group that utilizes advanced technology, including realistic river simulations, to prepare for such passages.
The 18-floor vessel carefully navigated through narrow channels and under several bridges before reaching Eemshaven early Tuesday morning, October 31.
North Sea trials are set to commence on November 5, with a full contingent of officers, technicians, and engineers on board to rigorously test its technical, mechanical, and navigational systems.
Simultaneously, work continues on board as shipbuilders outfit Carnival Jubilee with CCL's signature amenities. Innovative sea-themed areas on board will offer a range of dining and beverage options, including the bars Dr.Inks and Ph.D, providing guests with a unique experience that transitions from a sunny pier-like "boardwalk" to an adventurous ocean-floor promenade.
Carnival Jubilee, CCL's third LNG-powered ship, boasts other impressive features, including the top-deck rollercoaster BOLT: The Ultimate Seacoaster.
Carnival Jubilee's maiden voyage is scheduled to depart from Galveston TX on December 23rd. The ship will offer 7-day roundtrips to popular Caribbean destinations, including Mexico's Cozumel and Costa Maya, as well as Mahogany Bay (Roatan).
