Celebrity Cruises has officially revealed the name of the 5th vessel in its celebrated Edge Series: Celebrity Xcel.
The announcement took place at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard/STX France in Saint-Nazaire, during the steel-cutting ceremony attended executives from RCG-Royal Caribbean Group, Celebrity's parent company.
The Edge Series, renowned for its pioneering approach to cruising, will see Celebrity Xcel push boundaries even further to provide an unparalleled premium vacation experience. While exact details of the ship's unique features and experiences are yet to be disclosed, they are expected to bring fresh innovations to the cruise industry.
Celebrity Xcel is scheduled to embark on her maiden voyage on November 17, 2025. The Caribbean winter season's itineraries are based on homeporting in Fort Lauderdale/Port Everglades (Florida USA). Two alternating 7-night roundtrip itineraries are scheduled: Bahamas/Resorts World Bimini+Mexico/Cozumel+Grand Cayman, and Puerto Plata Dominicana, St Thomas USVI, and St Maarten. Reservations for these sailings are currently open.
Sistership to the 2023-launched Celebrity Ascent, Xcel is designed to connect passengers with the awe-inspiring world around them like never before.
The liner will offer an array of unique onboard experiences, including The Retreat, an exclusive enclave for suite guests with a two-story sundeck, a range of modern accommodations, an expanded Rooftop Garden, a remarkable Resort Deck with cantilevered float pools, a redesigned Sunset Bar, a fine-dining restaurant by Daniel Boulud, live entertainment, a revamped Grand Plaza spanning three decks, and the return of the Magic Carpet, an engineering marvel that extends over the sea, providing unobstructed ocean views for guests enjoying drinks or dining.
