The convergence of Fred Olsen Cruise Lines' 3-ship fleet (Bolette, Borealis, Balmoral) in Portugal's Madeira region on November 9th marked a historic occasion celebrated with a fiesta-style event called "Fleet in Funchal".
The ships arrived at Funchal Harbor with 3000+ guests, greeted by live music and vibrant carnival festivities on the quayside.
This gathering, part of Fred Olsen's 175th-anniversary celebrations, offered a diverse program of activities, including a citywide treasure hunt, dance performances, local culinary experiences, and a Tug of War contest between the ships' crews. A Battle of the Bartenders competition and ship tours allowed guests to explore each vessel.
The day's donations, totaling GBP 15,000, were dedicated to the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).
The event concluded with a sail-away party and a spectacular fireworks display.
