The ultra-luxury travel brand Azamara is enhancing its shore programming by introducing new day tours in collaboration with National Geographic/Nat Geo, the renowned brand dedicated to sharing stories that entertain and foster a deeper connection to our world.
Starting this month, Azamara, in partnership with Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, will offer 9 National Geographic Day Tours. These experiences aim to provide travelers with insights into conservation, culture, and history, drawing on Nat Geo's rich content and research legacy.
Each National Geographic Day Tour, guided by Nat Geo-trained/certified guides, adheres to the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Azamara's Extended Destination Days, allowing 10 or more hours in port, enable guests to participate in a National Geographic Day Tour and explore further with their newfound knowledge.

- "Finding a New Home in Amsterdam, From Struggle to Resilience": Guests explore Amsterdam Holland, walking its vibrant streets and cruising its canals while hearing firsthand stories of the city's immigrants and refugees. The tour offers insights into their experiences and community, concluding with a meal prepared by chefs from around the world, celebrating unity through the universal language of food.
- "Sancocho, from Monk’s Legacy to National Delight": Travelers discover the culinary legacy of the Dominican Republic in a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef. Using fresh ingredients and traditional utensils, participants prepare and enjoy Sancocho, a meal embodying the island's culture.
- "Cozumel’s Coral Reef Ecosystem": Led by a marine biologist and Cozumel Coral Restoration Program founding partner, this educational adventure explores the coral reefs and mangroves of Cozumel, Mexico. Participants snorkel to witness the beauty of colorful coral structures and contribute to the coastal ecosystem by planting seeds in the Mangrove tidal pools.
