Hamburg Port is concluding its 2023 cruise season with a notable finale featuring two visits from AIDA Cruises' AIDAnova during the Christmas holiday voyages on December 22 and 29.
These sailings are set to achieve record-breaking passenger turnaround per day at Hamburg's cruise terminals, operated by Cruise Gate Hamburg. AIDAnova, with a maximum capacity of 5,200 passengers, is fully booked, anticipating thousands of guests disembarking and embarking. Port staff will handle the unloading and loading of approximately 8,800 suitcases for each voyage.
Having served as AIDAnova's homeport since her arrival on November 11, 2023, Hamburg secured a 5-year agreement with AIDA Cruises in September 2023, ensuring a consistent volume of ships and passengers to the port.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Hamburg has scheduled 268 cruise calls, with 9 cruise ships making their maiden voyages to the port. This includes notable vessels such as Azamara Cruises' Azamara Onward, Costa Cruises' Costa Favolosa, TUI Cruises' Mein Schiff 7, Albatros Expeditions' Ocean Albatros, Cunard's Queen Anne, Seabourn Cruises' Seabourn Quest, Oceania Cruises' Sirena, Princess Cruises' Sky Princess, and Disney Cruise Line's Disney Dream, set to make her inaugural call on September 3, 2024.
