USCG launches search for passenger overboard from Royal Caribbean's Vision OTS

The US Coast Guard has initiated search and rescue efforts for a 41-year-old man who fell overboard from the ship Vision of the Seas, which departs from Baltimore MD.

The incident occurred ~127 mi (204 km) east of Charleston South Carolina, as confirmed by the USCG.

The operated by RCI-Royal Caribbean International Vision OTS the overboard on Saturday, December 23.

The crew promptly alerted local authorities and initiated a search and rescue mission.

Due to privacy considerations for the guest and their family, no additional details regarding the incident have been disclosed by RCI.

The Baltimore-homeported Vision OTS offers Caribbean voyages (roundtrips from Maryland) with lengths of 8 and and 12 days.

At the time of the incident, the ship was on an 8-day "Perfect Day Holiday" (Christmas-themed cruise). The itinerary started on December 22nd and ends on December 30th.
