MSC Lirica recently launched a series of cruises from a new homeport in Brazil earlier this month, adding to MSC Cruises' comprehensive 6-ship program in South America. This initiative positions Paranagua as the embarkation point for a series of 7-night cruises covering destinations in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.
In addition to the new homeport, the standard itinerary for the 2,000-guest vessel includes visits to Punta del Este, Buenos Aires, and Itajai, with 2 full days at sea. Notably, excluding Punta del Este, travelers have the flexibility to commence their cruises from any of the designated ports of call.
Marcia Leite, the Operations Director for MSC in Brazil, emphasized MSC's ongoing quest for new destinations. The inclusion of Paranagua in their itineraries was driven by the promising opportunities it presents to those eager to experience their cruise offerings. Leite underscored the significance of the new homeport as a convenient departure point for passengers residing in Southern Brazilian states such as Parana and Santa Catarina.
A total of 17 cruises departing from the new homeport are slated for the 2023-2024 period, extending through late March.
