A 15-year-old girl named Cameron, who had become separated from her parent during a visit to Port Chalmers/Dunedin (New Zealand) after disembarking from NCL/Norwegian Cruise Line's ship Norwegian Spirit, has been located following a search, as confirmed by the NZ police.
Cameron's inability to be contacted was attributed to the absence of a New Zealand SIM card in her mobile phone. This afternoon, she was discovered by an individual who had come across the Southern District Police's Facebook post.
The police expressed gratitude to the Dunedin community for their assistance in disseminating information through the original Facebook post, enabling a swift resolution to the situation.
Norwegian Spirit vessel (capacity 2018 passengers plus 912 crew) was scheduled to depart from Port Chalmers for Wellington at 4 PM on Saturday, December 30th. The ship had earlier berthed in Dunedin after visiting Milford Sound this morning.
