Following the publication of the latest cruise schedule, Portsmouth International Port (England UK) anticipates the arrival of 90 ships in 2024, marking it as the busiest year on record. The schedule includes 10 inaugural calls and the return of familiar vessels, contributing to an estimated influx of ~155,000 passengers. These travelers will either commence their voyages from the newly expanded cruise terminal or make brief stops to explore the city's renowned attractions.
Noteworthy among the arrivals is the NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Star, set to become the largest vessel ever to navigate the harbor with its 294-m LOA length, scheduled for an inaugural visit in May. This follows TUI's Mein Schiff 3, which set a new record in 2023.
The port is poised to continue its longstanding association with Saga, as a second season is already underway, featuring weekly calls throughout January and February.
August heralds the highly anticipated return of Virgin Voyages, with the Resilient Lady embarking on 3 to 6-night sailings themed around "English Sights and European Delights." Additionally, popular weekend short breaks to Amsterdam and Zeebrugge are on the itinerary. Virgin (having debuted in Portsmouth in 2021) has firmly established the city as their UK port of call, with ships Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady now integral parts of the city's skyline since the commencement of their successful voyages.
