Princess Cruises and Fincantieri postpone Sun Princess ship's delivery

Princess Cruises and the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri have amicably agreed to postpone the delivery of Sun Princess, the company's largest vessel and the biggest Italy-built passenger ship.

This delay unfortunately necessitates the cancellation of the ship's maiden voyage, initially scheduled to depart from Barcelona Spain on February 8th.

John Padgett (Princess' President) stated they acknowledged the disappointment stemming from this development, and empathized with their guests' anticipation for this voyage, extending sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation.

Affected bookings will receive a complete refund of the cruise fare and any pre-purchased onboard services, as well as a 50% FCC/future cruise credit (must be utilized by November 30, 2024) applicable to a forthcoming Princess voyage. Additionally, guests will be reimbursed up to US$200 per person for any incurred change fees related to their air travel arrangements.

Princess is also ensuring the protection of travel agent commissions.
