Two individuals found themselves adrift in the Gulf of Mexico, facing a perilous situation, until their rescue by a CCL-Carnival Cruise Line vessel on Monday, January 29th.
Carnival announced through an official statement that crew members aboard the Carnival Jubilee spotted the stranded individuals near the shores of Isla Mujeres Mexico. The pair had been left stranded in the open sea following the sinking of their vessel, compelling them to rely on a kayak for survival.
Upon sighting the distressed individuals, the ship's crew swiftly initiated communication with CCL's Fleet Operation Center staff based in Miami Florida, who then coordinated with the Mexican Navy to facilitate a successful transfer. The transfer operation was efficiently executed shortly after the rescue.
As of the latest information, the identities of the rescued individuals have not been disclosed.
Originating from Galveston Texas USA, Carnival Jubilee is on course to resume her regular travel schedule, with her next destination scheduled for Mahogany Bay/Isla Roatan Honduras on Tuesday.
This vessel is renowned for her week-long Western Caribbean voyages, having been introduced to the CCL fleet in December.
