AQV-American Queen Voyages has announced the cancellation of several sailings scheduled for February. The decision stems from an unforeseen circumstance requiring an extension of the layup schedule to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
Specifically, the February 26th voyage on American Queen and the February 22nd and 25th sailings on American Countess have been canceled.
Affected passengers will receive notifications regarding the next steps and refund procedures.
Pleasant Holidays, which ceased selling bookings for AQV in November, reports that 7 bookings have been affected by these cancellations.
This development follows recent actions by travel organizations like Signature Travel Network, which suspended sales of American Queen Voyages due to ongoing service issues. Other trade organizations, including AAA Travel, Virtuoso, and more recently, Travelsavers, have also paused or terminated their partnerships with the company within the past year.
In January, AQV issued an apology and expressed a commitment to promptly address the identified issues. Despite initial hopes of resuming sales by the end of January, Pleasant Holidays CEO Jack Richards noted that as of February 2nd, sufficient progress had not been achieved.
