Renowned American alternative musician, actor, and DJ Mojo Nixon (Neill Kirby McMillan Jr/1957-2024) has passed away at the age of 66.

Nixon, best known for his 1987 hit "Elvis Is Everywhere," was discovered deceased aboard NCL's ship Norwegian Pearl during the annual Outlaw Country Cruise, where he was a regular performer and co-host.

His unexpected passing occurred shortly after his performance the previous night.

According to his family, Nixon's death was attributed to a cardiac event. In a statement released on Facebook, they paid tribute to his legacy and dynamic personality, characterizing him as a vivacious individual who embraced life to the fullest. They recounted his final moments, including an energetic performance, a lively evening, and cherished interactions with bandmates and friends during breakfast.

“August 2, 1957 - February 7, 2024 Mojo Nixon. How you live is how you should die. Mojo Nixon was full-tilt, wide-open rock hard, root hog, corner on two wheels + on fire…

“Passing after a blazing show, a raging night, closing the bar, taking no prisoners + a good breakfast with bandmates and friends.

"“A cardiac event on the Outlaw Country Cruise is about right… & that’s just how he did it, Mojo has left the building.

"Since Elvis is everywhere, we know he was waiting for him in the alley out back. Heaven help us all.”

Norwegian Pearl's current cruise is 6 days "The Outlaw Country Cruise 8" (roundtrip from PortMiami) with call ports Puerto Plata Dominicana (Feb 6) and San Juan Puerto Rico (Feb 7). The itinerary started on February 4, 2024 and ended on February 10, 2024.
